New route 20 starts 2 November 2026

Burton - Stapenhill - Stanton - Newhall - Swadlincote - Castle Gresley - Linton

Route 20 is introduced on a commercial basis as a result of recent changes to route 21 to ensure existing links are retained and also giving us the opportunity to offer new links and serve new areas.

Linton and Castle Gresley maintains a bus every 30 minutes on weekdays to both Swadlincote and Burton and regains a 30 minute service on a Saturday.

We are also introducing a service to the large Brunel Way development offering fast links to both Swadlincote and Burton.

On the way we also serve William Nadin Way which is perfect for the Burton and South Derbyshire Stephen Burke Construction Academy as well as other businesses in this area.

The route through Stapenhill and Edge Hill is the same as current route 21. This offers a faster journey to Swadlincote as well as new links to Newhall.

We are pleased to be part of the Government‘s fare cap scheme at £3 and intend to remain in this when it reduces to £2 from January.

In the meantime we offer a 5 trip ticket for just £10 meaning single fares are just £2 already!

Of course we accept English National Concessionary bus passes as well as Staffordshire Knot and B_Line.

Route 401: Burton to Tutbury

We will no longer operate our journeys on this route from 2 November 2026.

Route 402: Burton to Uttoxeter

The journey at 1920 from Uttoxeter to Burton will no longer operate from 2 November 2026.

Closure of junction at Acorn Inn

The junction has reopened at the Acorn Inn. Routes 402A, 403, 809 and 810 are back to normal line of route and timetable.

As of 28 October the Acorn turning circle and bus stop are still not in use. If this remains the case on Monday 2 November then route 10S to John Taylor Free School will continue to start from Henhurst Ridge.
