RM1168

Available for hire is our iconic 1962 AEC Routemaster, RM1168.

RM1168 began its service with London Central, operating on Route 36, where it spent the majority of its early working life. In September 1994, London Central was acquired by the Go-Ahead Group, and RM1168 continued in service under their ownership until its withdrawal in 2003.

Following its retirement from London service, RM1168 spent several years operating with Ensign Bus. In 2005, it was acquired by Midland Classic, where it became a familiar sight on the peak-time Route 21 between Burton upon Trent and Swadlincote, as well as being used across other services within their network.

Alongside its regular service duties, RM1168 has also been a popular choice for private hire, including weddings, proms, funerals, and birthday celebrations.
